The Address Book can be used to save addresses for customers to whom you ship frequently. Address information can be saved manually or from the main shipping grid. Also, a spreadsheet of addresses can be uploaded to your Address Book.
Entering and Saving Addresses Manually
To enter and save an address manually:
Click Address Book (in main menu at left).
Click New Address (top of page). The Editing Address page is displayed.
Enter the address details.
Click Back to save the address information.
Saving Addresses from Shipments List to Address Book
To save Ship To addresses from a Shipments list to the Address Book:
Display a Shipments page, listing the Shipments in a grid.
Select the Shipments with Ship To addresses that you want to save to the Address Book (check the checkboxes at far left).
On the More dropdown (top of screen), click Add to Address Book. The Ship To addresses for the selected Shipments are added to the Address book.
Using a Spreadsheet with Address Information
You can upload a spreadsheet of addresses to your Address Book.
Spreadsheet File Formats and Column Names
Acceptable formats for the spreadsheet file include *.xls, *.xlsx, and *.csv.
The spreadsheet should contain these column names in order to be imported correctly:
Name
Company
Address1
Address2
City
State
PostalCode
Phone
Email
Optional column names include:
Notes
Tags
Note: To assign multiple tags to a particular address, separate the tags with a space (e.g., customers westernregion). A single tag name may not contain a space.

Uploading Addresses from Spreadsheet to Address Book
To upload a spreadsheet of address information to your Address Book:
Click Address Book (in the main menu at left).
On the Options dropdown (top of screen), click Import. The import file window is displayed.
Drag the file into the window; or click Choose File, and then select the spreadsheet file.
Selecting Stored Addresses for Shipments
Stored addresses can be selected for Shipments from the:
Selecting Addresses for Shipments from the Address Book
To select addresses for Shipments from the Address Book:
Click Address Book (in the main menu at left).
Do one of the following:
Select an address by checking its checkbox (far left). The Ship to button (top of page) includes the Name and/or Company selected. Click the Ship to button to display the Editing New Shipment page, containing the selected address.
To create a bulk Shipment using multiple addresses, select multiple addresses, and then click Ship (top of page). The Editing Shipments page is displayed, indicating the total number of addresses/Shipments selected. Also, this message is displayed below the To address header: Bulk Shipping: Multiple "Ship To" locations.
Selecting an Address from Descartes ShipRush Shipment Form
To select an address for a Shipment from the Descartes ShipRush Shipping form:
Select an option in the Shipments menu (at left).
Click New (top of screen). The Editing New Shipment page is displayed.
In the To address header, click the magnifying glass icon. The Address Book tab is displayed.
If needed, perform a search for an address.
Click an address to select it. The To fields are filled-in. If needed, edit the To address information.
Tip: You can also select the address from the Recent Addresses tab.
