How long does a USPS shipping label last?
Each printed USPS shipping label includes a date near the top of the label. The USPS prefers that labels are submitted to USPS on that date. However, it is generally acceptable to use labels that are up to four days old, but USPS has the right to refuse labels with a date prior to the date of tender.
In Descartes ShipRush Web, on the Editing Shipment form, you can specify the Ship Date (lower left of form).
What can I do if Descartes ShipRush Web reports a good address as bad?
USPS as well as most other Carriers use a database of addresses published by the U.S. Postal Service. The United States Postal Service Address Management System is 99.9% accurate and updated monthly. According to the USPS, addresses that do not match any address in the database are not acceptable for mailing.
If you have a known, good address that is rejected by the address verification system, then the address may not be listed in the USPS Address Management System. USPS suggests that you inform the Address Management Systems office that the street number, street name, apartment or suite number, and City, State, and Zip Code are not listed in the national database correctly (or at all). Please note that USPS does not match names with addresses; USPS only manages the addresses.
Use this link to contact your local AMS office: Address Management System Office Locator | PostalPro (usps.com). The page provides the address and telephone number of the AMS that handles the area you specify. Inform them that your address is listed incorrectly (or is not in the USPS system).
Can I print international labels on 4x6 stock or a thermal printer?
Most CN-22 labels (used for most international shipping via USPS) can be printed on a Zebra/thermal label printer on 4x6 label stock. Some international shipments, however, require a larger form, which will be printed on the configured laser printer, if the form will not fit on 4x6.
How do I obtain a refund for a Priority Express Package delivered late?
Do the following:
Reprint the label from Descartes ShipRush Web (or print a shipping history report showing the shipment).
Print the page from USPS.com tracking, indicating when the package was delivered. Preferably, it shows when the Post Office received the package and when it was delivered.
Complete Part 1 of form 3533 in duplicate. Typically, the 3533 form is only available from a Post Office.
Submit all the above to any Post Office.

How do I track First Class letters and flats?

The refund must be processed through USPS. It cannot be processed through online postage providers, such as Descartes ShipRush Web. To request a refund, visit your local post office or go to the USPS Refund page for additional information.
