Importing/Retrieving Information from QuickBooks

The QuickBooks application can be installed on the shipping computer or on a different computer at the same or a different location. The Descartes ShipRush Web infrastructure connects all of this together.
Setting-Up Hosted QuickBooks Desktop and Descartes ShipRush Web on QuickBooks Web Connector
Please note these terms:
Host : The datacenter machine that actually runs QuickBooks
Remote: The machine on which Citrix or remote desktop is used to access the host
To setup hosted QuickBooks Desktop and add Descartes ShipRush Web to QuickBooks Web Connector:
On the machine where QuickBooks is installed, go to http://my.shiprush.com. Do this on the host desktop (not just a published app). (Once set up, it may be possible to also use the published app.)
In Descartes ShipRush Web, click Settings, and then click Web Stores.
Click Add Web Store (top of screen).
On the Select a Web Store dropdown, click QuickBooks. Click Next.
Follow the on-screen instructions for creating a new QuickBooks webstore.
Note: One of the Wizard dialogs is QuickBooks Connector Setup Instructions (shown below). It includes a link to the file to download and your password. Record the password for use in an upcoming step.
Warning: Keep your password secure. This is the password to your system.
Download the file (see Step 1 in the above dialog).
Double-click the filename to add it to the QuickBooks Web Connector.
Enter your password, and then accept the "Save Password" option.
When prompted, run the QuickBooks Web Connector on the host. This connects your QuickBooks company file to the Descartes ShipRush Web cloud system.
Tip: QuickBooks Web Connector is part of QuickBooks. Consider contacting QuickBooks support for the best way to run the QuickBooks Web Connector in their environment.
Once QuickBooks Web Connector is connected to your Descartes ShipRush Web account, you can begin shipping.
