Searching for Shipments and Grouping Search Results
To search for Shipments and group the search results:
Display a Shipments list. (Click SHIPMENTS, and then click a submenu item.) The Search box for Shipments is at upper left.
Press F9 to put the cursor in the Search box.
Enter your search criteria, such as the Order #, Service, Tracking #, SKU, Ship To Name, Ship To City, or street address (for example, "123 main st"). See Understanding How Search Works and Using Wildcards when Searching for Shipments for additional information on performing searches.
Press ENTER or click the magnifying glass icon to execute the search. The list of Shipments that match your search criteria is displayed.
The list can be grouped by any column. To group the list, drag the column header to the area marked Drag a column header (at top). For example, if you group by Service, the items in the list will be grouped by FedEx Ground, UPS Ground, USPS Parcel Select, and so on. For example:
To create a sub-group of items in the list, drag another column to the Drag a column header area. The following list is grouped by Service (Service UPS Ground and USPS Parcel Select), and then by Ship To State.
The columns used to create groups are indicated above the list at left (see the highlighted area in the above graphic). To cancel a grouping, click the X at right of the column name.As needed, drag more column headers to the Drag a column header area to create additional sub-groups. You can also filter the Shipments list.
Understanding Searching for Shipments
Descartes ShipRush Web must find all search criteria in the Shipment for the Shipment to be a "match." Scenario:
Order 1: To 123 Main Street; its phone number is listed as 11-234-5678.
Order 2: To 111 Main Street with no phone number.
Enter "111 main" into the search box.
Press ENTER. Both orders are found because they both contain 111 main in the Order/Shipment information:
-
Order 1:
"111" (in the phone number)
"main" (in the address)
-
Order 2:
"111" (in the address)
"main" (in the address)
Search for a phrase by including quotation marks:
Enter "111 main" into the Search box.
Press ENTER. Only Order 2 is found because it includes the phrase "111 main". The first Order does not include the phrase.
Note: Searches are not case sensitive. For example, to search for John Smith, you could enter "John Smith", "john smith", or "john Smith".
Note: Searches go through the available history of each Shipment to return matches, regardless of the visible 'date range' or other filters that are set. Thus, adjusting date ranges before performing the search is not necessary.
Using Wildcards when Searching for Shipments
Two wildcards can be used with search:
?: The question mark stands for any one character
*: The asterisk stands for any number of characters
For example:
Use... |
To find... |
mar? |
|
mar?? |
|
Mar* |
|
Note: The wildcard must be placed at the end of the search term (for example, "mar*" or "UPS*"). A wildcard placed before the search term is ignored. For example, "*mar" and "*mar*" are ignored as wildcards.
Tip: To exit the search results, click any SHIPMENTS submenu item.
Filtering the Shipments/Orders List
Filters can be used to filter the Shipment/Order list by Shipment Date or Order Date, Ship To geographical area, Ship Method, Item SKU, Item Name, and one or more Tags applied to the Shipments. Do the following:
Above the grid and at right of Shipments, click the down-arrow button. The Filter dialog is displayed.
On the dropdown at upper left, select Shipment Date or Order Date.
Select a time frame on the dropdown. If you select Custom, enter the beginning and ending dates.
