Clipboard Shipping - Copying Blocks of Text into Shipment Form

Using a single set of commands, you can copy an entire block of text, containing the person's name, company name, address, telephone number, and email address, into the Editing Shipment form. To try this feature, do the following:

  1. Click New (top of screen) to display the Editing New Shipment form.


  2. Select the block of text between the >>> and <<<. To try this out, right-click the selected text, and then click Copy.

  3. In the Editing New Shipment form, in the To section, paste the selected text into one of the top three fields.



    Descartes ShipRush Web enters the information into the corresponding fields.


Add, Remove or Move Columns in Shipments List

The Shipments/Orders list can include many columns of information.

To add, remove, or move columns:

  1. To move a column, drag the column's header to a different location.

  2. Click Columns at top right to display the Select Columns window.


  3. Do any of the following:

    • To add a column, select its checkbox.

    • To remove a column, remove the checkmark from its checkbox.

    • To revert the Shipments list to the default columns, click Reset to Defaults.

  4. Click outside of the Select Columns window to close it.


Reference the Red and Green Indicators in the Orders/Shipments List

In the Orders/Shipments list, red and green indicators may be displayed at far left for certain line items. See the graphic below for explanations of the indicators.


Copy Data/Information with One Click

The small, green copy icon (highlighted in the graphics, below) is displayed next to certain data or information. A copy link may also be available. To copy the data or information to Windows Clipboard, click the green copy icon or copy link. You can then paste the information elsewhere.


Use a Thermal Printer

You can acquire a new thermal printer (e.g., ZP450 or ZP500) through eBay for around $200-250+, delivered. Thermal printers provide several advantages:

  • The labels pop out super-fast with no warmup time.

  • No ink or toner needed.

  • The printer almost never jams.

  • The printer can be used on MS Windows™ and Mac™.

  • The printer can be set up on one station. All other stations can print to that printer (including from home or a tablet).


Acquire a Scale

Scales accelerate your work. Acquire a scale that connects to your PC or Mac and will read directly from the scale, automatically. See scale for additional information.


Use Bar Code Scanners

Eliminate many computer keystrokes by using a bar code scanner.


Tag Shipments to Create Groups (Batches) of Shipments

You can tag pending Shipments to create groups (or batches) of Shipments in order to simplify your work. Later, you can view the Shipments based on the tag and then process the Shipments. See Tagging Shipments for additional details.
