Walmart OAuth Migration Guide


Introduction to Walmart OAuth Migration

Walmart has improved their security protocols to OAuth process to be able to access their APIs. Their process now uses OAuth (Open Authorization) 2.0, allowing Descartes ShipRush to connect to Walmart without sharing credentials. The Descartes ShipRush application has been modified to accommodate the new Walmart authorization process and connection. Important note: If you have multiple Walmart webstores you need to follow this process for all your webstores separately.


Migrating existing Walmart Webstore to OAuth 2.0 in Descartes Shiprush

This section provides step-by-step instructions for migrating to the new APIs for your FedEx account (s) in Descartes ShipRush.

Tip: Please contact us if you have questions about migrating to the new Walmart Security Protocols.


Ensure you have your FedEx account number information available before beginning with the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Descartes ShipRush account.

    1. If you are adding a new Walmart webstore to ShipRush, please refer to the Connect to Walmart guide.

    2. If you are updating an existing Walmart webstore in ShipRush, please follow these steps:

  2. You are on the home page after logging in and click on the Webstores menu on the left.

  3. Scroll to your Walmart webstore under the Webstores menu.

  4. Click on the Edit button on the right side of your active Walmart Webstore.

  5. You will end up on the Walmart Webstore edit screen where you need to click on the Restore Walmart Access button.

  6. You will enter to setup flow for the New Walmart Authentication, first step is to select all that apply and proceed by clicking I AM READY.

  7. You will receive some instructions about the process and you need to click I HAVE MY CREDENTIALS to proceed.

  8. You are redirected to the Walmart login page where you need to login with your Walmart Seller credentials.

  9. Walmart prompts you the screen to authorize Descartes ShipRush to connect, click Authorize for us to be able to retrieve the required tokens.

  10. After authorizing you will be redirected to the ShipRush application where we ask you if you want to change/enter any of the details and click CONTINUE.

  11. We can confirm you have succesfully authorized your Walmart Webstore in ShipRush, click DONE to get back to your webstores.


Important note: If you have multiple Walmart webstores you need to follow this process for all your webstores separately.
