DDU and DDP Services

DHL Parcel International Direct has both DDU and DDP options:

  • Delivery Duties Unpaid: Relates to shipping across borders (export shipments). The shipper only pays for transportation only, not taxes and duties. The recipient needs to pay any duties and taxes that apply. For small parcels in B2C, this often means the recipient needs to go to a post office to pay any duties and receive the package.

  • Delivery Duties Paid: Means the shipper has paid (or will pay) for transportation and import duties and taxes. The package is handed over to the recipient without a need for the recipient to pay any fees.

These options are selected in the Payment area when Parcel Direct has been selected as a service.

C.O.D.

C.O.D. will show on the shipping label for domestic and export shipments (from U.S. to other countries).
