New Features and Enhancements
Improved FedEx Registration During FedEx Migration To REST APIs
🟪 New FedEx Accounts Now Use FedEx 2023 We’ve updated the FedEx account registration process to align with the FedEx 2023 REST API implementation.
What’s changing
New ShipRush users (no existing FedEx accounts) After registering their first FedEx account, users will automatically be set up on FedEx 2023.
Users already using FedEx 2023 Additional FedEx accounts can be added normally using the FedEx MFA authentication process.
Users still on the FedEx 2020 implementation To add a new FedEx account, users must first migrate all existing FedEx accounts to FedEx 2023. ShipRush does not support mixing FedEx 2020 (Web Services) and FedEx 2023 (REST API) accounts within the same user account. If a user attempts to register a new account before migrating, an error message will appear on the EULA screen.
Important note This behavior applies only during the migration period from the FedEx Web Services integration to the FedEx REST API. Once the migration is complete, all FedEx accounts in ShipRush will use the FedEx 2023 implementation.
Resolved Issues
🟩FedEx REST API - Consignee Tax ID handling
We resolved an issue where the Tax ID (EIN) field in Shipment Defaults was incorrectly used for the recipient (consignee) on FedEx international shipments. This field is intended to represent the Ship From (Shipper) Tax ID only.
What’s changed
A new Consignee Tax ID field has been added to Shipment Defaults.
This value will now be correctly applied as the recipient’s Tax ID for FedEx international shipments.
Additional details
The Tax ID (EIN) field continues to apply to the Shipper address for international shipments.
For domestic shipments, or when no value is provided, the system uses the default Tax ID from the Shipper address.
These updates apply to new shipments only.
When cloning a shipment, the Shipper Tax ID will be copied from the original shipment.
This update ensures shipper and consignee tax identification details are applied correctly for FedEx international shipments.
🟩Resolved Configurable Display of FedEx Account and Non-Account Rates
We’ve improved how FedEx shipping rates are displayed in ShipRush to provide more control and consistency.
What’s improved
Users can choose to display FedEx account rates or non-account rates based on their account rate preference setting.
The rates shown during rate shopping now align with the final shipping cost shown when the label is created.
This update ensures the rates displayed in ShipRush accurately reflect the shipping cost based on the rate type selected in user settings.
Reminder
FedEx Integration – Migration to REST APIs (Action Required at a Later Date, Beginning of 2026)
Upcoming required migration of FedEx integrations to the new REST APIs.
FedEx has announced the retirement of their legacy Web Services APIs, with a mandatory shutdown date of March 31, 2026. To remain compliant, ShipRush will be migrating all FedEx integrations to the FedEx REST APIs, which also use a new OAuth-based security protocol.
This change is required by FedEx and applies to all ShipRush users shipping with FedEx.
Important: No Immediate Action Required
At this time, no action is required from users.
ShipRush will begin prompting users to migrate starting January 5.
The notification will appear directly within the ShipRush application as a UI pop-up / in-app message.
Users should only take action after receiving this in-app notification.
No manual configuration changes are expected before this message is received.
What to Expect When You Are Notified
Once you receive the in-app notification, ShipRush will provide clear guidance on how to migrate your FedEx account. The process includes:
Updating your FedEx account to use the new REST APIs
Configuring the required OAuth authentication
Validating your FedEx credentials within ShipRush
Step-by-step instructions will be available in the following documentation:
Why This Change Is Required
FedEx is officially discontinuing their legacy Web Services integration in favor of REST-based APIs that offer improved security, performance, and long-term support. As a FedEx partner, ShipRush is required to move all users to this new integration to ensure uninterrupted shipping functionality.
Final Migration Deadline:
All FedEx accounts must be migrated by March 31, 2026. Users who do not complete the migration by this date will no longer be able to create FedEx shipments in ShipRush.
If you have questions, please refer to the documentation above or contact ShipRush Support.
