Volusion restricts access to their API in the Pro plan and higher. Descartes ShipRush Web only works with Volusion Pro and higher.

Below are Order-retrieval details that apply when Descartes ShipRush Web is retrieving Orders from a Volusion account:

Payment Status retrieved?

Yes.

Buyer-requested shipping Carrier and Service retrieved?

Yes, if a match is found.

Weight and Dimensions retrieved?

Weight: Yes.

Dimensions: No.

Delay in receiving Orders in Descartes ShipRush?

Pressing Refresh in Descartes ShipRush Web retrieves all Orders up to approximately 15 minutes ago.

Are past Orders retrieved into a new setup of Descartes ShipRush Web?

Yes.

Can Descartes ShipRush Web determine whether those "past" Orders have already been shipped?

Yes.

Is Volusion updated with Shipment information?

Yes. The tracking number is posted to Volusion.


The Volusion system sends each set of data only once. It remembers which data has been sent and will not send it again. The Volusion "sent data counter" can be reset on the same screen where the URL was created.

The Volusion system does not allow the retrieval of data by date range. This makes it difficult (or impossible in many cases) for Descartes ShipRush Web to monitor for Order cancellations. If an Order is cancelled, it msut be cancelled in both Volusion and Descartes ShipRush Web at roughly the same time.
