Note: ShipRush USPS was formerly called ShipRush Discount Postage.
Overview of ShipRush USPS Rates and Monthly Charge
ShipRush USPS is available to all users of Descartes ShipRush Web.
ShipRush USPS provides you with "Fortune 100" rates. (Normally, these rates are only available to the largest shippers.) To see details on rates, click here.
Your ShipRush USPS account is free for the first two months and $29.95/month thereafter. The account can be closed online at any time. All unused postage is refunded to you within 60 business days.
Dimensional Discounts (AKA Cubic Rates)
When you enter package Size (dimensions) on the Editing Shipment form, Descartes ShipRush Web calculates the Dimensional Discounts automatically, if the package is eligible. Smaller packages can enable greater savings.
Dimensional Rates only apply to packages up to 20 lbs. The rates for heavier packages are calculated normally, based on the package's Weight, distance to the destination, and Service used.
Automatic Package Verification (APV)
When shipping by USPS, packages are subject to Automatic Package Verification (APV). This means that once the parcel is received by USPS, the parcel's weight and dimensions are verified against the information provided at the time of shipping.
If the package weight and dimensions provided at the time of shipping do not match the weight and dimensions determined by USPS, then a charge may be applied to your postage account, if the determined postage is greater than the amount paid. If the postage paid is greater than the determined postage, you may be reimbursed. Descartes ShipRush applies a processing fee for APVs (a percentage of the APV amount).
